The 2007 Winners' Circle
August 23, 2007 On this night, it was once again time to pull a winner for a new custom chopper. In fact, tonight we were pulling TWO winners! We worked all summer selling tickets for bikes from KC Creations of Overland Park KS, and Grumpy's Customs in Concord NC. This was our second time around with each of these builders, and like the first time, they set us up with some great hardware. The first ticket pulled was for the KC bike. Steve from Johnston RI was the lucky winner. We could not get a hold of him at the time, but when I talked to him a few days later, well let's just say he had to check his heart. He hadn't ridden in years, but there's no keeping him out of the saddle now. The second ticket pulled was for the Grumpy's bike, won by Glen from New Milford CT. We were able to get him on the phone that night, and although we could barely hear each other I could tell he was a good guy.. (and I kept reminding myself of that as I delivered it in the driving rain down his very steep driveway!) Congratulations to both winners, and we thank ALL who participated in the raffle for their support of CF. While the bikes are great, the most important thing is always the support we get to battle this genetic disease. The 2006 Winners' Circle
August 17th, 2006 Today was the first of 2 days of our second fishing tournament of the year to bennefit the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. While the weather was great, the fishing was a bit slow today for some of the boats. You can't argue with mother nature. Even this being the case, it was a great day to be on the water. But more importantly, tonight we pulled the winner for our custom chopper built by Jerry Covington of Covington's Cycle City. Being a past wilnner in the Discovery Channel biker build-off series, this bike drew substantial attention, nearly selling all 1000 tickets. The winner turned out to be Ron from Glastonbury CT. At first, we could not get him on the phone, but he called back shortly, totaly amazed that he won. Thank you to all who supported this raffle this year. We will have at least two bike to be raffled off in the new year. We have another bike from Kim Sutter of KC Creations on the way, as well as another sick creation from Grumpy's customs. Check back often to see these bikes as soon as we get pictures. The 2005 Winners' Circle
December 7 , 2005 Last night, we raffled of the cool bike built by Kim Sutter at KC Creations. After being on dislplay for the last month at the Mohegan Sun Casino in Uncasville CT, we held and event in the Wolf Den Cabaret at the casino. Our poster girl, Jenny, was present to pull the winner, Martha from Westfield MA. as cool as that is, the story only get better. Martha, used to ride until an accident a few years back. She suffered some fairly serious injuries and gave up riding. She had purchased a ticket for the bike on a trip to the casino a month earlier. Being a nurse, she understood the dissease that we are working to conquer, and decided to lend her support, never thinking she would win. (I think she really liked the bike too!) Upon pulling her winning ticket, we attempted to call her at home. Getting no response we left her the happy message on her answering machine. Getting home late that night, she listened to the message, totaly shocked at what she was hearing. As it turns out, she was at the same casino the night of the drawing, playing the slots, and didn't realize we were holding the drawing at the same time! Thank you Martha for your support and letting us tell the story. The 2004 Winners' Circle
December 12, 2004 Tonight, we held our end of year holiday bash to close out the year's fundraising activities. With over 250 people in attendance at The Mohegan Sun Casino, in Uncasville CT, the event was a huge success. We had a number of raffle prizes including Bose home theatre systems, a big screen TV, Bahama vacation, and much more. Entertainment included a great local motown band, Souled Out, and a Flintstones skit designed entirely to embarrass the management staff. But the big attractions for the night were the two AWESOME motorcycles we would be giving away. Tonight was the night to pull the winner for the chopper bulit by Jerry Covington, of Covington's Cycle City in OK. Little Jenny was present to pull the winner, Cheryl from Everett MA. We also held a live auction for a killer chopper built by Dave Welch of Chopper City Customs of Jacksonville FL. This incredible bike was delivered this morning by Sherry and Harley of C.C.C. This auction was won by Mark from ME. We wish to thank all who supported us this year. Thanks to generosity of many, we were able to make our largest donation to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation to date. Keep checking back with us. Starting January 1, 2005, we will start selling tickets for a bike built by Kendall Johnson. This bike will also be on the Easyriders Centerfold Tour for 2005. We held a dinner for the attendees of our fourth annual Cape Cod fishing tournament, at The Courthouse at The Old Jailhouse Tavern in Orleans MA, with aprox 140 people in attendance on monday night, June 28. We had 6 year old Jenny (Poster girl for CF Fund) first pull a winner for the Midwest chopper. We announced the winner as Jim from Westport, CT. We were able to get him on the phone, and of course he went nuts. Jenny then pulled the winner for the Grumpy's bike, who was actually in attendance. upon announcing Tom from Agawam, MA as the winner, he generously donated it back to the charity. after some brief deliberation, we decided to hold a live auction for the bike, which was won by Greg from Guilford, CT.
